hand histories don't import

Hi,
I downloaded sharpstats on an earlier version and could not get my hh to import. It is cake super turbo's all in 2009.
My db connection is working, initialized, and my tourney db is initialized.

Even with the latest version I click to import and it says "Import Complete" but nothing is imported.
Is this bc the software doesn't support Super Turbo's or bc I have previously imported on an older version?

Hi alethia,
As far as I know, SharpStats shouldn't have a problem with the Super Turbos. Are you having a problem with the tournaments showing up in the stats tables or the Tournament Results table or both?

Both. I think (not sure why I think this) it's bc I previously imported hands in an older version.

I think I need to start From scratch, but I'm not sure how to. Eventhough I uninstall sharpstats and re-install it still comes up as recognizing the postgress db I want to connect to, so somehow I'm not clearing everything oFF my computer that I need to.

When I imported hands in the older version I leFt hands From beFore 09 on there. These are the only hands that ever imported , the 08 sng results.
Once I realized this I uninstalled sharpstats and installed the new version. I also removed all my old sng tournaments From the directory so that it only contains my 09 SnG tournies.

Yet when I clean install the new version oF sharpstats it still shows the old data I had previously imported incorrectly, and will not import any oF my 09 sng's.

Hope this inFo helps you diagnose !

Try this:
Move all of your hand histories from your Working folder back into your Import folder.
Start SharpStats and click the Reset Database button
Once you get a pop-up saying that the reset is complete, click the Initialize Database button
After the initialization is done, import all of your hand histories

This process will not change your Tournament database, so you may still have problems there. However, give the Import From Hand Histories button a try to see if it works. If not, the next version will have a way to fix this problem. I should be able to release the next version later this week--just need to add Stars Tournament Summary import and it will be ready to go.

Thanks,

What do you mean by working folder?

the import from hand histories button under tournament results gives me an "unhandled exception" and closes sharpstats.

This is the folder where SharpStats moves your hand history files after it has imported them.

Fabulous, the new version worked for me when I could clear out the tourney's.

I didn't realize that it shows all results in terms of chips won and lost on the holdem tournament tab.

I am still getting an error when trying to use the "Tournament Results" tab, am I doing something wrong?
Last is there somewhere i can see what you mean by "Yellow M-zone"

M=Stack / (Blinds+Antes)
Here are the various zones and their corresponding M:
Green: 20+
Yellow: 10 - 20
Orange: 5 - 10
Red: 0 - 5
The M concept is discussed in Harringtion on Hold'Em Volume 2.

It's hard to tell since I'm not sure what exactly is going wrong. Would you be willing to do a TeamViewer session so I can see what's going wrong?

I'm not sure what a teamviewer session entails. Sounds a bit risky :o.

It's not risky at all. You can set up TeamViewer so that I can only view your desktop (I can't actually do anything to your computer). Then, we chat via Skype so that I can walk you through getting it set up and/or find out what is going wrong.
